    BJJ Fundamentals

Black belt instructor: 6 students at the beginning. More and more joined throughout the class. The Professor taught us how to break my enemy’s posture while he is in my closed guard,: by pulling diagonally, not straight downward. Then he taught me how to sweep my enemy by digging my elbow into his throat and adding one butterfly hook. Finally, I was taught how to defeat my enemy using an armbar after sweeping him. We ended the class with positional sparring in closed guard. Because I am a 0 degree white belt, I was swept many times lol. I pray that as I practice, I will improve :(

    Beginners / Fundamentals

Brazilian instructor: approximately 20 students(didnt actually count). I partnered with a 1 degree white belt young dude. The Professor taught me how to fall down and how to get up, then my partner and I pushed each other, then we climbed up each other. Afterwards, my partner choked me from behind and I flipped him over by bending over. Next, my partner choked me from behind while pulling me back, and I still flipped him, this time by hooking his ankle and twisting my body and then flip him the other way. The next position was the mount. Obviously, I never want to get mounted, nor is it realistic to mount my enemy in multiple attacker situations. Therefore, the professor taught me how to escape it by using the ‘Ooo Pa’ technique, which is to hook his foot, grab his arm, and bridge and turn. If he defends the sweep by posing a leg out, i use the space to shoot out my leg and clamp into half guard, and shrimp out and recover my full guard, whether close or open. Finally, we did mount position sparring. Because I am a 0 degree white belt, I was unable to pin my opponent down. I pray that as I practice, I will improve :(

    BJJ- Beginners

7 degree black belt instructor: lots of students. The Professor taught me lots today! First, I put my hook on my partner’s knee to stop him from moving to one side, then I change the hook to stop him moving to the other side. Second, my partner throws my legs away and kicks me in the head while I block the kick and recover my guard. Thirdly, I kicked his hands while on the ground, imagining his hands are my enemy’s head. Fourth: I sweep my partner and get up. Fifth: my partner throws my legs away and step towards my armpit( similar to second but he steps forward rather than kick), and I need to shrimp out before recoving guard. Sixth: he throws one of my legs, and then I try to recover my guard, but before I have fully recovered, he grabs the other leg and throws again, and then keep on repeating. Seventh: my partner throws my leg and move all the way to the opposite side, pass my head. I need to invert myself, cross my legs and place them on his hips, and spin myself to recover my guard. Eighth, and final, and hardest one: i hug my partner’s leg like a Koala while he is standing sideways(perpendicular to me, rather than facing me), then I invert myself, spin under him and go in between his legs, and switch legs while under him, and come out the other side. Because I am a 0 degree white belt, I cannot do the last one at all. I pray that as I practice, I will improve :(

    MMA

Brazilian? Instructor: Dude was wearing a brazil t-shirt so I assume that is where he was from; 3 students but the big dude was late, so we had a semi-private class for almost half an hour. The professor asked me to do 50 jumping jets, 50 burpees, and 50 push ups as warm up. The teenager did not do them. I reckon it was because he had done the youth class right before this one. I then learned how to pass by enemy’s guard using the Tory Round Doe pass, then go on knee-on-belly. As my enemy tries to push my knee away, i grab his arm and defeat him with an arm bar or key moo ra. Because I am a beginner, I had trouble keeping my balance in the movements. We ended the class with 100 sit ups and one minute plank. Normally I can do 30 secs only, but today there were people doing Muay Thai sparring, which distracted me so I forgot about how hard the plank was, so I wnded up doing the full 60 seconds lol. I pray that as I practice, I will improve ;)

Coach Bos is a very professional coach. Even though I am a female student, he is very attentive in teaching each movement. I noticed that other students in the class are always happy during lessons. They told me that they've been training with him for a long time and feel that he teaches very well. Highly recommended. If I have time in Thailand, I will definitely attend his class again.👍

THIS is THE Jiu Jitsu class to go to! I learned a lot from just one session, but I am so excited to book another as soon as it was over. Beginner-friendly as Coach Mark taught us fundamental stances and techniques, but be prepared for serious muscle soreness the next day lol 😅 It was surely challenging, and doing the drills and sparring rounds felt awkward at first, but by the end of the class you'd feel empowered and strong. ♡

Young instructor: 3 students. A young lady, a young dude, and an old dude(me). The Professor taught me lots of drills, including how to escape while my enemy has pinned me down, and also how to sweep my enemy while he has mounted me. We ended up with 3 rounds of sparring so that everyone goes with everyone. Because I am a 0 degree white belt, I cannot even do a knee on belly properly. My Senpai was walking me through how to put more weight on him, but no matter how hard I tried, he seemed to not feel anything lol!

Brown belt instructor: 1 student. Private class YaY!!!! The Master taught me how to use the Coyote guard from Half guard to get up to Dog Fight position. From there, I can take my enemy’s back, or grab his knee and ankle and push him down and climb up onto mount or side control. If he puts on a wizzard, I can grab his ankle only and then roll under him and flip him over. A more simple technique is to just pull out my leg from half guard and shoot into closed guard. We ended the class with 2 rounds of sparring. Because I am a 0 degree white belt, I cannot do the technique when the Master had his wizzard on me. I pray that as I practice, I will improve :(
